I just checked in on the Modoc County tax default auction and was a little surprised to see that most of the lots with low starting bids all have current bids around $1,300. The lots with starting bids over about $1,600 have no bids on them yet. The auction ends in about a day now and I'll check in again right before it closes to see what the average price of a California Pines lots ends up being.
Update: Monday June 21, 2010 - About 20 hours to go and the bids are still sitting around the $1,300 mark.
