It seems the hospital trouble Modoc County is facing might just be the tip of an iceberg, although I may be jumping to conclusions so draw your own conclusions.
News 10 is reporting that the county is seeking a loan from the State of California and has hired a bankruptcy attorney in case they need to declare the county insolvent.

This is really sad news because the state is in terrible financial shape too. It sounds like they will need to really tighten their belts and make some really tough choices as it pertains to county services.
