Recreation in the The Shasta Cascade Region

While Modoc County is facing some serious financial troubles, and the California Pines POA continues to stand the way for owner-builders - I wanted to mention some good aspects of the region to balance out my posts here. After all, this part of northern California is a beautiful place; and we shouldn't let a few corrupt people spoil our day, right?

Here's an article that lists all sorts of outdoor activities available in the the Shasta Cascade Region. This is a small sample from the article for Modoc County:
  • Pack some water and take a scenic hike to Mill Creek Falls, Modoc County’s largest waterfall, which can be accessed from Mill Creek Falls Campground.

  • Dust off the old mountain bike and head to Devil’s Garden Mountain Bike Area near Alturas to bike a total of 5.3 miles of various turfs!

  • Take an adventure through time by visiting the Modoc County Historical Museum, featuring over 150 years of history!
